It has been said that the years starting in the mid 1980's were the beginning of the modern day market for collectible comic books. During this time, there were very few collectors and mostly just readers who would store their comics in the attic or any other area used to put junk. The Golden Age
This time has been said to have become the golden age because comic books were becoming much more complex. Previously, comic books had been more of a simple nature with basic stories of adventure; however, during the early to mid 1980's comic books began to take on more adult themes and situations making the plot and the issues contained there in to be much more complex. Publishers Ramp Up
Due to the fact that there was growing interest beginning to form in the comic book collection industry, many publishing companies began using gimmicks or special editions of their comics such as special covers or holograms as well as package containers that were very valuable when they remained unopened. While comic books began to take off, the creation of toys and action figures also began to take the stage while being offered as collectibles as well. Comic Comeback
Because so many people thought that the comics that they once hoarded were worthless, collectors were being bought out in bulk for little to nothing. These bulk loads of books were stored and now we are seeing another comeback in the collecting of these older comics that were once prized by their owners. Although they are not worth what they once were, certain mass produced comics are bringing fair prices around the world and more and more people are getting back into the hobby of buying and selling comic books nfl jerseys during the present. Selling comics is now becoming a profitable form of investing but one should remember that there is always the possibility of loss in anything that he or she may invest in.
