Aaron Rodgers(notes) is about to make the Big Three the Big Four. Rodgers has been so impressive in Green Bay Packers preseason games, it's hard to imagine he won't join Peyton Manning(notes), Tom Brady(notes) and Drew Brees(notes) at nfl jerseys the elite level this season.
No, he doesn't have a Super Bowl ring like they do. But considering the Packers' core of young talent, it seems inevitable he will get one—if not this season, then soon.
After Rodgers sliced up the Colts' Super Bowl defense on Thursday—his performance in the two-minute drill to end the first half was stunningly good—the praise was effusive. Here's a sampling:
• "He's got a ton of ability. (He) had a heck of nfl store a year last year and had that crazy playoff game against Arizona. … They really do some things that play to his strengths: his ability to move out of the pocket, throw on the run and throw the ball deep down the field really, really well."—Manning
• "I think he keeps amazing himself. He is the best, and he's proving it."—Packers WR Donald Driver(notes)
• "The kid is good. I mean, he's really, really good. You keep him on his feet, he's going to make the defense look … silly. He's going to put up some yards. He's going to put up some touchdowns, some points. He's the real deal."—Packers LT Chad Clifton(notes)
